About Sri Lankan Weather

The climate in Sri Lanka is generally hot and humid year round. Bright, sunny warm days are the accepted norm. The only change in season is the monsoons, which brings rain from May to July to the western, southern and central regions of the island; and in December-January to the northern and eastern regions of the island. Cool climate can be experienced in the hill country. Average mean temperature along the coast is 26.7 C (80 F) and 19.7 C (66.50 F) in the hill country.
